			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Tripped over this piece about <strong><a href="http://newventuremarketing.typepad.com/stanfordconted/2007/09/welcome.html">a course at Stanford</a></strong> that focuses on changes in the business and learning environment and more specifically with the new possibilities that web 2.0 is opening up. From the course description:</p>
<p><em>Under this new model teaching becomes a multi-directional street where new  social media are quietly replacing older tools with connection, collaboration  and community.  I facilitate. You contribute, explore and interact.</em></p>
<p>I noticed this curse description on the same day I encountered an article about the <strong><a href="http://laptop.org/">&#8216;One Laptop Per Child&#8217; organization</a></strong>.  My mind began to turn cartwheels when I considered the near future when we have been able to connect third world children to the capacity of a web 2.0 enabled learning environment. It throws into the shadows, the tired old stories of people who want to subdue or kill each other (the news seems particularly full of that sort news these days).</p>
